Dear colleagues, friends and guests,
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2017 NSW Section meeting.
As with all the great meetings we have had in the past Dom and I are hoping to organise a meeting that has a practical and interactive educational program as well as unforgettable social programs. As a State with the highest attendance for State Meetings we hope to honour this tradition and to blossom further. This is not only a chance for us to connect with old friends, but also a great opportunity to extend our friendship to the next generation – our trainees. Hopefully, as well as learning new knowledge and skills, we can have a warm and rewarding social experience from this meeting.
This year we are delighted to have Associate Professor Richard Link from Baylor College of Medicine Houston, Texas, as our key speaker. Rick is Carlton-Smith Endowed Chair in Urologic Education and specializes in laparoscopic, robotic-assisted, percutaneous and endoscopic treatments for renal tumours, renal and ureteral obstruction and urinary tract stones. He is a pioneer in developing laparoendoscopic single-site nephrectomy (LESS).
To make our meetings more practical and useful we are planning a few interactive case discussions. We will have Pathologist Dr Fiona Maclean and Radiologist Dr Suresh De Silva joining our panel.
This year we are returning to our beautiful Central Coast which is only one hour drive north of Sydney. Our meeting will be held at Crowne Plaza Terrigal which has just won the bronze medal in the Deluxe Accommodation Category at the NSW Tourism Awards. The popular Terrigal Beach is just on its doorstep and the famous Terrigal Haven and Skilion is just a 10 minute walk away.
What is more exciting is our networking afternoon. James Wong is going to guide you and your families through the beautiful Bouddi National Park walk. For golfers, Mark Louie-Johnsun has secured Magenta Shores Golf Club which is the only private golf course on the Central Coast and is rated 6th in NSW. To spice up your cooking skills, we have our very own Julie Goodwin, Australia’s first Master Chef winner, to host a hands-on cooking class from one of her fabulous feast range at her cooking school.
We will be having our Welcome Reception on Thursday evening at the Gosford Regional Art Gallery and Edogawa Japanese Garden with finger food from award winning H& H Catering. Last but not least our Gala Dinner on Friday night will be at the Gosford Classic Car Museum, the largest car museum in the southern hemisphere. It is home to a huge range of classic cars valued at over 70 million dollars. Come dressed to impress and “Rock ‘n Roll amongst the Fast and the Furious ”!
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Terrigal on the Central Coast in November.
